Are You Ready For This?
May 6th, 7th and 8th, 2016 will be the dates and you're in for a treat.  Over three unforgettable days, you'll take seminars and learn from the top masters and world champions in the martial arts, you'll re-connect with your old friends and make new ones, you'll get to witness (and could even be part of) a world class martial arts show, all while experiencing the atmosphere of upstate NY in the spring.

The venue for this event is the beautiful Hyatt hotel in downtown Rochester.  Rochester is located in northwestern NY about 90 minutes from Niagara Falls and the Canadian border.  It's the home of Kodak (the camera and film company) and many other companies and is known as the "Flower City" for it's spring lilac festival.  It's also home to wineries, craft beer breweries, historic houses (such as the George Eastman house) and many other cultural/artistic venues.

Tentative Schedule of Events          

SOLD OUT!!   Thursday May 5th 7 pm - 9 pm Meet and Greet Pizza and Chicken Wings Party for early arrivals (limited to first 100 people to register). Say hello to old friends and enjoy an All-You-Can-Eat Pizza and Wings get-together.  Music, friends, food and drink - there's no better way to start off this amazing weekend.       

Note:  The Pizza and Wings Dinner is sold out but you can join us at 9 pm for drinks and a social get-together with your convention friends. 

Friday May 6th

12 noon - 4 pm Day One of Training Seminars - over 25 instructors will run 55 minute sessions, teaching you the skills and drills of their respective martial arts style.  Whether you are looking to improve your skill in your current style or you want to experience something different, you'll come away with tons of new information.  Try a class in Judo, Karate, Filipino Martial Arts, Okinawan weapons, jujitsu or any of a dozen other arts.

SOLD OUT!!     7 pm - 9 pmTaste of America Official Convention Kick-Off Party - The hotel chef is preparing a number of distinctly American dishes in another all-you-can-eat buffet and party.  Philadelphia Cheese Steak, Tex-Mex Chili and other tasty items will be available.  Our DJ will be spinning tunes to pump up the energy and we'll have some surprises for everyone, too!     

Note:  The Taste of America Dinner is sold out but you can join us at 9 pm for drinks, dancing and a social get-together with your convention friends.

Saturday May 7th

9 am - 11 am - Small Group Master Classes with Top Masters and Champions - With spots for only 20 participants in each class, you'll get personal instruction from the "best of the best".  Here's a list of the instructors who will be teaching Master Classes on Saturday - you can put their name on your registration form when you register for these very special classes.

8:00 am - 12 noon - WKF Kata, Kobudo, Team Kata and Duo Kata Championship - This event will feature individual competition (for children, teens and adults) in kata and kobudo (weapons kata), as well as Team Kata (3 person teams for children, teens and adults) and Duo Kata 2 person self defense routines.  Custom Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for top places and a special participation award for all competitors.  How often do you get the opportunity to compete in an International Championship?  Don't miss your chance.

12 noon - 4 pm - Day Two of Training Seminars - More fantastic seminars with world-class martial arts instructors—learn from the best instructor from US, Canada and Europe.  You'll be sweatin' and smilin' as you train alongside martial artists from a dozen different countries around the world.  Increase your skill, make new friends and have a great time at these intense training classes.  

For kids 6 - 12 years old, there's a special KIDS ZONE area on Saturday and Sunday for exciting and fun seminars and activities with the international  instructors teaching their specialties, from jujitsu to karate, kali to kicking, self defense to sparring and much more.  All belt levels can attend and kids will come away with new-found enthusiasm and skills in the martial arts.

SOLD OUT!!      6 pm - 7:30 pm WKF Banquet and Premier Show seating (limited to first 100 people to register).  You can reserve a table for 10 of your students or friends or meet new friends at this exclusive banquet dinner.  Choose from a Roasted Pork Loin or a Herbed Chicken Breast meal (there is also a vegetarian option) along with a fresh, farmhouse salad and a tasty dessert.  

Note:  The WKF Banquet is sold out but you can join us at 9 pm for drinks, dancing and a social get-together with your convention friends. 

8 pm - 10 pm WKF Kobudomania Demonstrations and Show - one of the highlights of the year!  You'll be inspired and thrilled by the mastery and creativity of the presentations on the main stage.  Witness amazing demonstrations of self defense, weapons, kata, throwing and board breaking from teams from Canada, Europe and the USA.  This is a show that you can't miss - truly a show that has to be seen to be believed.  Free party after the demonstrations to hang out and share social time with your martial arts friends.

Sunday May 8th

11 am - 3 pm Day 3 of Training Seminars - Cap off your weekend experience with another set of seminars with our team of international instructors.  The action doesn't stop as you continue to learn, train and have fun.  Your muscles will be tired and sore, your brain will be full of new information but the memories of this weekend will last a lifetime.
